Kolo Toure is a retired Ivorian professional footballer who played as a center-back position. He was born on 19 March 1981 in Bouaké, Ivory Coast. He began his professional career with the Ivorian club Africa Sports before moving to ASEC Mimosas. Toure then made his way to Europe and played for Arsenal, Manchester City, Liverpool, and Celtic during his career.
Toure was known for his physical strength, speed, and ability to read the game. He won several major honors during his career, including two Premier League titles, an FA Cup, and a Scottish Premiership title.
He also represented the Ivory Coast national team at three Africa Cup of Nations tournaments and two World Cups. Toure retired from international football in 2015 after making 120 appearances for Ivory Coast.
After retiring from playing, Toure worked as a coach with Celtic and joined the coaching staff at Leicester City in 2021. Toure is also known for his philanthropic work, including the establishment of the Toure-Kunda Foundation, which provides education and healthcare support in his native Ivory Coast.
